The Post Where I Get Sappy & Sentimental

As I type this Giggles is getting ready for her first Homecoming. The dress & the shoes are all layed out. Soon we will put the curlers in her hair and drive over to her friend's house where we will take a ton of photos before they all pile in her friend's parent's car to go to Homecoming.

Honey, my wish for you is that you have a fabulous time. I am so thankful that you decided to go with friends and didn't let heart break get the better of you. You are so confident and strong. When I look at you I see nothing of the girl that I was when I was your age. That is a good thing, because there was a reason that girl was a wall flower.

But I just don't know if I am ready for this. This growing up thing. I know that you are more than capable of it. I know that you are a fantastic person. I know that you can do anything you put your mind to, you have already proven that.

But sweetie, what you don't understand is that no matter what you will always be my little girl. The one who decided at three that she was going to run away and find a better family. One who wouldn't clean her room because she was 'pretty and nice and had blue eyes' The one who would always make sure I was in eye shot when we went to the park. The one who drug that stinkin' 3 foot plastic alligator named 'Fishie' around with her for over six months because she didn't need a baby when she had an alligator.

You in your first formal. I love you so much. Be careful and know that no matter how old you get, you will always be my little girl.
