This past week has been a bit hectic around here. With the weather changing and making my fibromyalgia flare up, getting around in the mornings isn't the easiest task. The disadvantages to having the master in the basement and both of my alarm clock challenged girls on the 2nd floor of our turn of century colonial.
Most mornings like this, I hate to admit, but I call Giggles on her cell phone to wake her up. But, if I am in my bedroom when I call her, I can't hear if she actually gets out of bed and starts her day. So, some days, like yesterday, she goes back to sleep.
Typically, when I am not in pain, my day starts at 5:45 when I go up and wake the girls, get some coffee going, have some quiet time, make lunches and then the girls & I get in the van so we can drop off The Chicken at 7:20 and Giggles soon after that. It isn't as important to get Giggles to leave the house at 7:15, as her school doesn't start until 7:50, she just likes to be early and I love taking just one big loop of a trip to both girls's schools.
Yesterday, however, had me waking at 6:42, calling Giggles on her phone, realizing she wasn't up at nearly 7, and she was insisting that she was going to take a shower because she wasn't wearing her hair curly to school again-and she needed to wash it to straighten it (if you have curly hair, I am sure you understand) So after dropping off the Chicken at her school (which we live four blocks from but that is a story for another day) I look to the woods that are next to school and in the center of our neighborhood.
The sun is blazing and beautiful.
It is reflecting off the clouds in the sky and I felt the tension of the hectic morning just melting away as I drove to find the perfect spot to snap a couple photos of this majestic sight.

As I looked up higher in the sky, the clouds reminded me of puffs of cotton candy from summers gone by. So I just had to capture another shot-very similar to the last, but breathtakingly different

Feeling the warmth of the sun starting to flow over my neighborhood helped me to stop and appreciate things. To not rush. To enjoy dropping my daughter off a bit late for school because one day, soon enough, we won't have this morning ritual and I am sure that my days will seem that much more emptier because of it.
Anissa is showing signs of fighting, which is good because she totally is a fighter. If you want to get updates you can check our her Caring Bridge site here

SO pretty! :)
Beautiful capture. I have Sunrise by Norah Jones stuck in my head. I even went to lyrics.com to make sure I was humming/singing in my head correctly.

Beautiful! Just beautiful.... nice capture.
Every one of our moods is reflected in the skies and its ever-changing cloud collage - or perhps it is the other way - every mood that the sky assumes is reflected in us!
